 Coach's Notes

Colorado Challange

After coming from just a week of practices following Christmas, we (the coaches) didn't expect too much from the 16 G team except to work hard and give us a sense of what we needed to work on in order to improve for later tournaments. However, much to our surprise, the girls came together and played an impressively scrappy defense and held their own against tough teams which Coach Tasha and I were thoroughly pleased with. Even though we didn't leave the tournament with any prizes or medals, the knowledge we gained from this tournament was very rewarding for both the coaches and our ClubOne athletes. We couldn't have been happier with how the 16 Gold team performed.

Power 1 & 2

The team, much to the coaches pleasure, works harder and harder each and everyday at practice as they clean up technique and focus deep into the fundamentals of the sport. With 2 powers behind us, and more tournaments ahead, each and every player on our squad is relentlessly striving to move up in division and compete against bigger and better teams with hopes of making our presence known to each and everyone of our opponents. And if we're lucky, to come out victorious as well. To quote my high school wrestling coach "LUCK FAVORS THE PREPARED!" and that's exactly what the coaches and our girls are trying to do.

Power #3

We were very pleased with the improvements the 16 Gold team had made for Power 3 as they performed with pride against stiff competition. Power 3 also served as a great learning experience for the girls as they unfortunately learned the hard way that the team who deserves to win doesn't necessarily always do. However, winning is unimportant when our 16 Gold superstars are able to walk off the court with their heads held high knowing deep down in the back of their minds that they each did their absolute best and left it all out on the court. It is that same attitude that we all left Power 3 with and there is no better feeling than to feel completely content and proud of your performance despite the outcome. It is the same reason that even though the 16 Gold team didn't come out on top, we still gave them a well-deserved standing ovation and a congratulatory high five.

POWER 4 Here we come!
